Children's & Adult Choirs

The Village Temple Children’s Choir: We Support Each Other

Led by Anita Hollander, the children's choir meets on Tuesdays from 6-7pm in  the Sanctuary. The choir sings at VT family services, High Holy Day Children's Services at Cooper Union, Purimspiel, Thanksgiving Interfaith Service at the 5th Ave. Presbytarian Church, and many other holiday events at VT and around the Village. The repertoire is both Hebrew and English, with some ORIGINAL songs written expressly for the choir and featured on the brand-new CD, THE VILLAGE TEMPLE CHILDREN'S CHOIR: SING FOR A BETTER WORLD (available from the Temple). A joy and love of singing is more important than a great voice in this choir. What's really important is learning to support each other and work together as a group - and the result seems to be unbridled FUN!

Anyone aged 5-17 is welcome. Come join us on a Tuesday!

"These kids brought a whole new meaning to the word RUACH, as well as great gobs of Joy & Hope, to an entire community of people. That's quite a feat!!!" [Temple member]

“The choir is really fun. It is a great experience because you get to meet lots of cool people and sing in front of lots of different audiences. And Anita is the best!“ [Danyel B, Choir member]

Village Temple Adult Choir

The Village Temple Adult Choir is a group of dedicated members who love to sing. You do not need to be able to read music or Hebrew, although a rudimentary knowledge of music helps. The adult choir rehearses in the Sanctuary on Thursday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30 PM. The Adult Choir participates in services throughout the year and in concerts and choir festivals.
