Join a Committee

The Village Temple has several committees open to all congregants who are interested in gaining a deeper level of engagement in Temple life and activities. Participating on a committee is a great way to connect with other congregants, while contributing your time and skills in ways that truly make a difference to the congregation. We encourage you to join us in helping to shape our present and future. Religious School
The Religious School Committee meets regularly to assist with general school policy and planning. Committee members facilitate the working of the school by providing input on curriculum and program development and encourage parent participation in holiday programs and special events. Ritual Committee

The Ritual Committee helps to develop congregational policies in the religious practices area that encourage meaningful atmosphere for prayer. As part of this function, we help to educate people about Jewish ritual and liturgy and help to organize special holiday and festival observances. The committee also makes recommendations for the maintenance and acquisition of prayer books and the synagogue’s ritual objects.

B'nai Mitzvah Committee
Co-Chairs: Barbara Gerolimatos and Elizabeth Horwitz
The B'nai Mitzvah Committee assists families who are planning their child's Bar/Bat Mitzvah. Members participate in two meetings with parents, clergy and the Director of the Religious School: an orientation meeting in late Fall and the B'nai Mitzvah Survival Course in the Winter. The committee has prepared a Bar/Bat Mitzvah handbook for parents, plus a list of resources used by Village Temple families is also available upon request. Committee members are available to talk with parents and answer questions about non-religious aspects of the B'nai Mitzvah experience.

High Holidays Committee

It truly takes a village to organize all the logistics for our High Holidays services. If you’re interested in lending a hand, please contact Lisa Loren at: lisaloren49@aol.com.

Fundraising Committee
The Fundraising Committee organizes events and activities to supplement the dues income of the Temple. We hold an annual phonathon to raise funds for a specific goal. We've also sponsored spring concerts as special fundraisers. If you have fundraising experience or want to learn "on the job," we need your assistance. Membership Committee

Needed: People with innovative ideas on how to grow and sustain the Village Temple’s membership. If you have a background in marketing or sales or you have creative ideas and energy that you're willing to share to help the Village Temple grow, please join this group. Special Skills
People with financial and legal training, writers, editors and graphic designers, as well as teachers and event managers, are key to the success of programs and management at the Village Temple.
