Shabbat Services - All of our services are child-friendly. We encourage parents to check the calendar and come to services with their children. Seeing parents enjoy their prayer experience supports children in their Jewish studies. Families with young children particularly enjoy our special Friday night services.
Family Learning Program - Once a month, parents join their children in the classroom for a shared learning experience, updating their own education, strengthening the familial, Jewish bond, and invoking academic discussion at home.
Class Shabbat Dinners - The Class Shabbat Dinners were begun for students and families to celebrate Shabbat together, understanding that the traditions and joys of Shabbat are most meaningful when tasted, heard, seen and created together. Families say this evening creates a memory of a special experience shared. The dinner builds community for students and their families, often including even grandparents and cousins. The Shabbat dinners help students to feel connected to their Temple community, and to grow up with the experience of having an extended family in that community.
Bim-Bam Shabbat - Bim-Bam Shabbat is a unique Shabbat experience for infants, toddlers, preschoolers and their parents and caregivers. Gone are the days where your little Jews, squirmy Jews, teething Jews and parenting Jews had to sit still. Give your children and yourself the experience of our Bim-Bam Shabbat filled with music, musical instruments and new funky Shabbat songs. Join Jacob Stein and his crew of animals, Rabbi Koster, Cantorial Soloist Daniel Leanse and Alex Tansky at the Village Temple.
