Religious School and Youth Groups

From Pre-K through Grade 12, we provide a strong grounding in Jewish ethics, history, texts, Hebrew, culture and ritual. We want our students to feel that Judaism is relevant to their lives, to understand how Jewish principles and belief in social justice can guide them in their relationships within their families, with friends, and with the wider world.

Contact Alex Tansky, Director of Education for more information about our outstanding Religious School program.

  Welcome to The Village Temple

The Village Temple is a place for kesher – connection.  It is a home for contemporary Reform Jews who are seeking connections to Torah and the search for spiritual fulfillment, links between past and present and one generation to the next, a bridge between the downtown Reform community with Israel and the world.

We invite all who wish to join us to enter our doors: Jews by birth, Jews by choice, interfaith families. Inside you will find a community of people who are on a quest to reinvigorate Shabbat, holiday worship and Jewish learning, and renew our commitment to tikkun olam through social action and justice.

ShabbatDinnerOn Friday, May 4th, The Village Temple community will welcome and celebrate Shabbat in each other’s homes. The evening will start at 5:30PM with singing, blessings and appetizers at the temple, and then, we will disperse to host homes for a delicious Shabbat dinner, conversation and fun. What better way to deepen connections with one another?

There will be no Kabbalat Shabbat service on May 4th. Those individuals/families who are observing a yahrtzeit will gather at 5:45PM in the sanctuary for memorial prayers including kaddish.

In order to make this a successful event we will need Shabbat hosts as well as reservations for those individuals and families that would like to participate.

Details, including registration and cost will be available in the next few weeks. For now—HOLD THE DATE!

Our innovative education program aims to instill in our children a lifelong commitment to Jewish learning, culture and community. With our experiential and flexible camp-inspired and fun education program, we engage our students through stories and songs, Hebrew prayers and music, educational and fun games, art and cooking. The Village Temple is known for our excellent Bar/Bat Mitzvah preparation, which enables each student to experience Jewish learning and life in a personal, meaningful way, as a unique educational journey through Torah, ethics, ritual, and the state of Israel.
