Introducing Cantor Faith Steinsnyder

The Village Temple Welcomes Cantor Faith Steinsnyder

June 24, 2009

Dear Friends,

It is our great honor to introduce Cantor Faith Steinsnyder as our new Cantor at the Village Temple starting in mid-July. Cantor Steinsnyder earned a doctor of music degree and is an invested cantor through the Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion. She has a stunning voice and is a learned cantorial scholar and teacher. She also is a noted performer and recording artist, singing with choral groups and as a soloist nationally and internationally.

Cantor Steinsnyder has over 10 years experience as a pulpit cantor at synagogues across the region, including Temple B’nei Shalom in East Brunswick, New Jersey and Temple Beth El in Spring Valley, New York. Most recently, she has served as lecturer and faculty member at Hebrew Union College and the Jewish Theological Seminary of America.

Cantor Steinsnyder has instructed and coached hundreds of B’nei Mitzvah students. She loves the process of helping students prepare for their Bar/Bat Mitzvah and is looking forward to working with our children. Over the summer, Cantor Steinsnyder will reach out to those families with Fall and Winter 2009 Bar/Bat Mitzvah dates and will arrange to meet at the earliest possible date. Rabbi Koster and Daniel Leanse will be working closely with Cantor Steinsnyder over the summer to ensure a smooth transition.

We hope you will join us in warmly welcoming her to the Village Temple community.

B'shalom,

Wendy Kaplan & Emily Hacker
