Youth Groups

Members of the Youth Group are teens in Grades 8-12; they meet regularly for social, educational and community service activities. Youth group members run bi-weekly lounge nights, raise funds for their activities and participate in worship services and social action during the High Holy Days. These events are excellent platforms for our teens to develop skills in organization, leadership and collaboration, as well as deepening love for Jewish studies. Students also plan and attend rweekend retreats, both their own and the regional programs held by the URJ's youth movement, NFTY-NYC. Over the years, many students from The Village Temple have served as leaders of this city-wide youth organization, and have traveled to national conventions in Washington, DC and Los Angeles.

"My daughter's social life revolves around the friends she made at The Village Temple Youth group! They're a terrific bunch of kids." [parent of youth group member]

Beit Midrash classes meet every two weeks, alternating with Senior Youth Group. Students are encouraged to participate in both of these unique programs for an integrated Jewish experience of friendship, study and service.
