The Shabbat Effect - Art Workshop part 2

  • The Village Temple 33 East 12th Street New York, NY, 10003 United States (map)

On Tuesday March 17 at 6pm, we’re honored to welcome Alan Morinis — founder of the Mussar Institute, anthropologist, educator, and leading teacher of Jewish mindfulness. Alan will teach about the practice of Mussar as a path of Jewish spiritual growth and speak about his newest book, The Shabbat Effect.

"Rooted in the 1,100-year-old tradition of Mussar and enriched with contemporary insight, The Shabbat Effect explores eight essential inner traits that can be refined through a weekly Shabbat practice. Alan offers a thoughtful and accessible guide to how sacred rhythm can shape character — how slowing down, setting boundaries, and entering sacred time can actually transform who we are."

This is an invitation to engage Jewish tradition not just as history or ritual, but as lived, inner work.

Then on Wednesday March 25th at 6pm come back for Open Studio, a night of expressive arts, exploring creativity and reflecting on themes from The Shabbat Effect, led by Stephanie Luxenberg. Please RSVP.
